Could any place be more beautiful?
Somewhere in the Highlands.
Eilean Donan castle, Kyle of Lochalsh
Glen Garry/Loch Garry
Highland cattle are referred to as "hairy coos." It's unbelievable how cute they are in person.
They are nice unless you touch their horns, and then watch out. We fed them shortbread.
We'd have stayed all day with the hairy coos if Graham had let us.
Glen Nevis, a film site for Braveheart and Rob Roy
Molly and that Aussie girl (can't remember her name) at Glenelg.
Glencoe, a nationally protected area with only three houses inside, is a deep glaciated valley gouged out between the rugged mountains. The famous clan massacre of the MacDonalds by the Campbells happened here. (The Campbells' action was viewed as so treacherous that even today, some pubs hang signs saying, "No Campbells.") We had a wonderful picnic lunch on a mountainside there.
Battlefield at Culloden, where the Scots fought the "English fuckwits."
My favorite Scotsman enjoys Glenelg.
Ancient burial mounds called Clava Cairns. When you encounter something older than the pyramids in the middle of a farmer's field, it makes you feel your own insignificance.
Looking puffy at Perth on the River Tay, where we saved the drowning dog
Sligachan Bridge on Skye, where the sickness hit me
